Mine Da Gap participated in the 2025 RPM Challenge in February, recording an EP titled Christmas Extended Play. This release is now available exclusively on Bandcamp.

The five tracks on the EP are part of a work in progress with more songs expected in the future. No date has been set for this uncompleted release, and Christmas Extended Play will not be distributed to streaming services. “Recording in Progress” is scheduled for a wider single release later in the year.

Despite the title, Christmas Extended Play is not a seasonal release and has no holiday content. If anything, the title invites listeners to impose as much of a holiday spirit onto the music. Alternately, it could be the holiday release for when you’ve had enough Christmas music.

Mine Da Gap makes his debut with a single based on a friend’s post on the site formerly known as Twitter.

“LeVar Burton Springs” takes inspiration from a voice dictation app mishap, substituting a well known intersection in Austin, Texas for a Hollywood actor. Mine Da Gap’s Greg Bueno replied, “This is your band name,” then immediately realized the entire tweet could be a song.

Propelled by artificial singers, drum loops and the 12-bar blues, “LeVar Burton Springs” introduces the latest project in a series of Facebook shitposts, where Greg creates a band name, then tries to figure out what kind of music that band plays.

Mine Da Gap is an underground instrumental hip-hop project by a guy who knows little of underground hip-hop outside of MF DOOM. It should prove … interesting.
